FAQ

How to log meals, workouts, exercises, and protocols — plus billing and account help.

Account and billing

I paid but the app still shows a paywall. What do I do?

Open the Premium / paywall screen and tap Restore Purchase. Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy. If you switched phones or accounts, restore on the new device.

How do I cancel my subscription or free trial?

You cancel through the store, not inside SpearCal:

  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SpearCal → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SpearCal → Cancel

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. You will keep getting charged until you cancel in Settings or Play.

I want a refund. How do I get one?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by SpearCal or Blue Mine, LLC. Request one from the App Store or Google Play using the receipt in your email.

The app keeps crashing or will not open
  1. Uninstall and reinstall SpearCal.
  2. Sign back in with the same email or Google account.

Your diary, workouts, and protocols live in the cloud. Reinstalling does not delete them as long as you use the same account. If it still crashes, send your device model and OS version through the Support form.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your profile, meals, meal photos, and weight history. It does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — cancel that in your store settings first.

What data does SpearCal store?

Account email, the health details you enter (age, height, weight, goals), meals and photos you scan, workouts, protocols, and subscription status. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Meals and items

How do I add a meal?

From the Diary tab, or the + quick action Scan Meal, photograph the plate. Review the AI estimate (foods, portions, calories, macros), edit anything that looks off, then save. You can also start Add meal without a photo and build the meal by hand.

How do I add items by scanning?

On the confirm-meal screen after a scan (or while editing a meal), tap Scan item to photograph a missed food or a nutrition label. Use good lighting and fill the frame. Always check the serving size before you save — scans are estimates, not lab measurements.

How do I add items manually?

On confirm/edit meal, search the food catalog, add the item, and set the serving. You can mix scanned items and searched items in the same meal.

The scan named the wrong food

No tracker is perfect. On confirm-meal, edit or remove the wrong item, then add the right one with search or a second Scan item. Natural light and a clear, close-up photo help the next scan.

Workouts and exercises

How do I start a workout?

Open the Workouts tab and tap Start Workout, or use the + quick action Start Workout. You can also start from a saved template on that tab. In the live session, log sets and tap Add exercise to pull more movements from your library.

How do I save a workout as a template?

After you finish a session, open Workout History, choose the completed workout, and save it as a template. The next time you can start that same lineup from the Workouts tab instead of building it from scratch.

How do I create an exercise?

Workouts → Exercise LibraryCreate exercise. Set a name, category (strength, hypertrophy, cardio, or bodyweight), and muscle groups. Tap an existing card to edit it later.

How do I create an exercise from a gym machine?

Exercise Library → Scan Machine, photograph the machine, then review and edit the pre-filled exercise before saving it to your library.

Protocols

What is a protocol?

A repeating reminder you define — for example a supplement or a routine. Due items show on the Protocols tab and on the calendar so you can log them when they are done.

How do I add a protocol?

Open the Protocols tab, tap Add Protocol, and complete setup (name and schedule). Items due today appear on that tab — log them when finished. Use the Protocols manage list to edit or remove ones that are not due today.

How do protocol reminders work?

Allow notifications when SpearCal asks so due-day reminders can fire. Reminders are local to the app. Turning off notifications, or deleting the app, stops reminders — and deleting the app still does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.
